Emalene’s journey began with the opening of her first salon in 1995, which evolved into the award-winning clinic in Billericay. Her success has expanded beyond the treatment room into consultancy, product distribution, and brand development, working with renowned organisations such as Harrods, Urban Retreat, and Thai Square Group.
Over the past decade, Emalene has focused on addressing a critical issue within the industry, the lack of regulation, clear training pathways, and professional development opportunities. While encouraged by potential legislative changes, she recognised a significant gap in accessible, high-quality education for therapists and practitioners striving to meet evolving standards.
Driven by her commitment to excellence, Emalene founded YOU Academy, a forward-thinking training platform designed to elevate industry standards. Her mission is to empower professionals with the skills, knowledge, and recognised qualifications needed to succeed, while promoting safe, ethical, and results-led practice. She is passionate about supporting practitioners who share her dedication to delivering outstanding client care and achieving excellence in their craft.
Her expertise in aesthetics began early in her career with permanent cosmetics, where she developed a reputation for precision and artistry. Today, she is highly regarded for her advanced work in corrective and remedial treatments, including the removal and refinement of poorly applied procedures, as well as specialising in treatments tailored for men.
For many years, Emalene has worked alongside doctors and surgeons, running a highly successful injectable clinic and providing a trusted support network for patients throughout their treatment journey.
Having built her career from a mobile business to an international brand with salons in the UK and Portugal, Emalene understands the realities of the industry, the pressure to stay ahead, attract clients, and adapt to constant change. Faced with the uncertainty of new legislation and significant financial investment in equipment and training, she experienced first hand the challenges that many practitioners now face.
Rather than stepping back, Emalene chose to lead, she became the change the industry needed.
By combining her decades of experience, insight, and passion, she created a unique hybrid training academy designed to support salon owners, solopreneurs, and practitioners in building sustainable, future-proof careers.

I know exactly how this feels because I’ve lived it.
I started with a mobile business, working long hours, chasing clients, and trying to stay one step ahead. Over time, I built that into an international brand, with salons across the UK and Portugal, but the pressure never really goes away.

And now, we’re facing something even bigger.

I’ve had countless sleepless nights questioning everything, how do I protect my business? My team? My future? After investing hundreds of thousands of pounds into equipment, products, and education… the thought that it could all become outdated overnight is overwhelming.
